However; this is a new project and the dust has not yet settled down. I
believe these is more to come during upcoming days, as of now there are
ongoing discussions about project structure, build procedure, initial scope,
data formats ... etc. No real code has been committed to repo now.

Anyway, Mahout community warmly welcomes all M/R experienced developers with
interest in ML. For time being you can dig around wiki (
http://cwiki.apache.org/MAHOUT/) and find yourself some interesting area and
start discussing & coding.
