Staal has donated the ARFF ANTLR grammar to ASF.

What's the link

I got it via a mail, and it ended like this:

The information transmitted in this electronic communication is intended only for the person or entity to whom it is addressed and may contain confidential

So I'm waiting for his permission to forward it to the mailing list.

I guess the thing to do is to get Staal to create a JIRA

Right, I'll forward.

JSR-73/247

I wouldn't worry too much about it just yet. I think we should focus on getting some various, independent pieces together before we try to bring them all together.

It is only their logical/physical data model I'm attracted by. This is about data set attribute definitions, types and roles. How to treat data. I think it makes sense to worry about this before get started working with multiple independent peices at the same time.

I've actually already implemented something similar to what is described in the JSR-247 class diagrams. I have also introduced a PhysicalRecordReader with next(), skip(int), seek(int) and reset(), and aim to implement a simpled random access ARFF record reader with recrd start byte positions index. Then I can start building map/ reducing pre processing filters.
