For better or worse in Maven, deleting the local repo seems to be the equivalent of Microsoft's three finger salute (ctrl-alt-delete) whenever Windows is frozen. As I said from the start on Maven, there's a lot of pros and cons. For me, most of the time it is about 50.000001% pro and 49.999999 con. :-)
