I'm on 10.6.2 and did the following: 1. http://www.grantingersoll.com/2009/09/11/how-to-restore-java-1-5-and-1-4-on-os-x-snow-leopard/. Note, you will have to redirect the symbolic links that point 1.4/1.5 to 1.6 to point to the appropriate things. The links on my site are to tarballs for JDK 1.4 and 1.5 and thus only need to be untarred, not installed. 1.b Validate the versions.
2. Edit the forrest script in $FORREST_HOME/bin/forrest and put the following on just after the License header: #workaround for JDK 1.6 bug export JAVA_HOME=/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.5/Home/ 3. Save the file. 4. Run forrest in the directory of interest. If, for some reason, that doesn't work, log into people.a.o and build there.
