I missed this in the review of dependency cleanup. I think this needs
to go back in taste-web/pom.xml

    <dependency>
      <groupId>axis</groupId>
      <artifactId>axis</artifactId>
      <version>1.4</version>
    </dependency>

That's all, no need to undo other things. My bad
