0.3 release issues

OK first roadblock -- we can't depend on the Hadoop 0.20.2 snapshot.
It might not be such a sin to depend on 0.20.1. I believe it will
break the CF job in some instances, but, this is not going to affect
existing examples or unit tests (though it should :( ).
