I introduced local stage repository in jSPF, mime4j and postage as a compromise with Noel requests (see old threads about maven repositories). I also see that Robert chose the same approach with JAMES Server (and no one complained) so I thought that the practice was widely accepted in the JAMES project (and in ASF in general). Imho we can remove them and use a remote repository for all of our dependencies: I have no problem with both approaches (maven give us a simple option here). Stefano
