I am Prof. O.P.Singhal retired Prof frm Pantnagar. Presently
working at Moradabad Institute of Technology as Prof. and Head of
the Deptt Computer Enggan Information Technology.
Presently I had been on a visit to USA . I had been to this
country basically to be with my son Abhishek ex graduate Pantnagar
(passed in 1998 in Comp. Science) who is working at Portland with
Intel.

by the affection shown by you all. I wish I could be of any help

Yes I agree to the suggestion that ex students of Pantnagar in
general and Nishi Kant Kapoor in particular to start WPAAA and
bring to this stage. All of you who are associated with it deseve
all the congratulations and pat on their back. I wish all the
success to this organisation. I also feel that it should grow
further to the new heights like the Alumni Associations of IITs.

hi sir
I am a new entrant in this long and prestigious list of Pantnagar
alumni.
I am a student of Pantnagar univ. I did my B.Sc Ag & A.H. from 95-99
then was selected in Duncans Industries Ltd. through campus interviews,
there i worked for 3 years+.
now after resigning from there I am pursuing MBA (agribusiness) from
College of Agribusiness Management, G.B.Pant univ. and just completed
my Ist year after summer project in ITC-IBD.
i tried to see the list of alumni at different chapters at WPAA website
but it seems there is some problem in opening the links.
I have met some of the active members like Mr Alok Moitra and want to
become an active member myself.
I will welcome any responsibility given to me that can help in better
functioning of the association.

PhD positions in Optics and Photonics
The ICFO-Institut de Ci�ncies Fot�niques is a center devoted to the
research and education of the optical and photonic sciences, at the
highest international level. As part of its mission, the ICFO offers
predoctoral fellowships to qualified graduate students who wish to
obtain a
doctoral degree in a photonics-related field. Awardees will be enrolled
in
a doctoral program leading to a PhD-equivalent degree, and will conduct
research at the ICFO. In 2003, fellowships are offered to conduct
research in the areas :
optical trapping and tweezers,
ultrafast laser sources,
nonlinear optics,
optical properties of biological self-assemblies,
nanophotonics,
atom optics,
quantum optics,
quantum information.
The ICFO PhD Fellowship Program welcomes applications from individuals
with backgrounds in any scientific disciplines related to optics and
photonics. Persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
Eligibility
No restrictions of citizenship apply to the ICFO fellowships.
Candidates must hold an internationally-recognized Bachelor or
Master-equivalent degree in a field of science and engineering related
to
optics and photonics. Suitable backgrounds include optics, physics,
mathematics, electronics and telecommunications engineering. Candidates
should

Conditions of fellowships
The fellowships are offered for periods of one year, renewable for a

hi all,
some of the guys wanted to know about the IES preparations,..well i
will be able to advice about electrical engg.. score of 550+ is good in
written, but remember its very-very hard to get marks in subjective
papers,until unless u r correct in content u can not be sure of any
marks, and in other case , of 80% marks, in theorecticals this comes
down to 50% or so,..... but these days some pattern have also
changed.....books , check out latest from question papers, it requires
dedicated study of 6-8 months to get through....books are almost known
to everybody,u can bank on all indian authors....paper-1st requires
quickness, for this u must be good at EMT, and material scince..mat
science is one area where there is not sufficient material in any
book...., paper-2 is cool.... and prepare hard for english, and
objectives-they are mark fetching.....
for specific queries...do write...
