Folks, The unprecedented disaster that struck south east Asia on Dec 26 is continuing to take its toll. The loss to humanity is greatest ever to hit the region in our lifetime. There is an urgent need to provide clean water, food, cooking utensils, medical supplies and basic accommodation to affected people and their families.
In this hour of need, we urge you to open your hearts and contribute to the relief efforts, being carried out by various helping organizations in the world. Reuben Abraham has made a verified list of agencies that are providing legitimate aid available at: http://wetware.blogspot.com/2004/12/tsunami-relief-efforts.html Some of you are wondering why WPAA is not one of the active organizations in this relief effort. My response to that would be - as much as we would like to, lack of sufficient resources and our inexperience in carrying out such projects, is preventing us (WPAA) from taking a lead role in the relief efforts. However, each one of us can still make a difference if we contribute generously and lend all the help that we possibly can. With best wishes for a prosperous, cheerful, safe and a happy new year, Nishikant Kapoor Secretary, WPAA PS: Just in case you are still undecided about which helping organization to go with, check out http://ns.indnet.org/. I have been following Dr. K. V. Rao (founder) for last ten years and have found INF to be one of the most committed ones. (I am not related to Dr. Rao or INF in any which way.) ================================================ To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with 'unsubscribe' in subject header.
