Subject: ppp0 vs ppp1
Hi JJ
I m facing a problem. One of my clients uses Vsnl for browsing and
Spectrum ISP for e-mail relay and fetching. Hv used cron for dialing and
retrieval every other hour. There is just one modem on ttyS1. When the
Vsnl connection ppp0 is up , the spectrum connection might get dialed by
cron ,disconnecting and killing ppp0 and bringing up ppp1. But then ppp1
doesnt pass data in or out and finally dies out.
What is needed here is to check if connection already exists to
Vsnl , if so avoid bringing up Spectrum (ppp1). But if not connected ,
keep ppp0 intact (ppp0 is always up since demand dialing is used) and
conduct business thru ppp1.
Please gimme suggestions to acocmplish this.
