Regarding Installation of specialix io8 port card(ISA)
  Date :
Sat, 1 Dec 2001 10:43:49 -0800 (PST)

hello
I have done the following thing in order to install
specialix io8 port card(ISA) on redhat hat 6.2. but...

root# insmod
/lib/modules/linux2.2.14-12/misc/specialix.o
iobase=0x100 irq=11

Made an entry to etc/liloconf like this
apend "specialix=0x100 irq=11"

made 8 device file in /dev like this

mknod /dev/ttyW(from 0 to 7) c 75(major) (file number
as minor)

made entry to /etc/inittab as
a:23:respawn: /sbin/getty ttyW(0-7) DT9600 vt220

but doing all this i am not getting the login or any echo message to terminal.I
think cable connection are ok because prior to this i have unixware2.1 on the
same and working fine. One more problem is there that when system is reboot each
time i have to install the
specialix driver by insmod.By using setserial -ga /dev/ttyW* it shows the uart
type cirrus and baud_base 785678 like this.
