if you mean linux -> windows98 connectivity, then very less..
you cannot control a windows98 machine from linux. but running third
party application u can enable telnet,ftp on windows98. 

but win98 -> linux connectivity can be made easy, run sumba on linux, it
will mimc like an NT server. Utilities like SecureShell/Putty, XWIN32
will make Win98 -> Linux enjoyable, as long as 98 dont crash ;-)
