ILUGCOCHIN met at 2:00pm at the Internet Club Broadway. The meeting was
kicked off with a review on all the new features present in Redhat 7.3. This
was then followed discussions on popularising Linux and steps which had already
been taken which was now helped more users become aware of Linux, we especially
thank Mr Balakrishan of Indian Bank for designing posters for this porpose. The
members present suggested that all members take copies of the poster and put it
up at different Locations in Ernakulam.
This was then followed by a discussion about the Cyber Fest on 10 and 11th of
August, being organised and the organiser Mr Dhirendra gave us an indepth
analysis of how it would help in getting a feedback from the community towards
the various aspects regarding computers and that the next step would be to
organise a Linux Fest in Kochi.
The members unanimously decided that all that was required to popularise Linux
in the Community at Large would be done in the coming months
This ended the meeting for July.
