heello
how do i change my resolution to 1028x 768. I changed it in sttings-diplay 
props and restrtd xservr..but the change does'nt apply. I made some changes to 
some file name XFREE*.* . It mentiond my resolution as 800x600. i chngd it to 
1024x768,but thn the xserver faild to start. i had to undo the changes. My 
monitor was not detectd. Is thr anyway,i could change my resolution to 1028x768.



                        It's To DO or Not to DO,Thatz One Damn Stupid Question.

hi friend
could you post the contents of your /etc/XF86Config file. There is too
little information to make an informed answer to your question. 
Plus some hardware specs would be nice. Do you know the manufacturer and
model of your video card and monitor? 
You need to play around with this: 
Section "Screen"
        Identifier "Screen0"
        Device     "Card0"
        Monitor    "Monitor0"
        DefaultDepth    24
        SubSection "Display"
           Depth     24
           Modes "1600x1200"
        EndSubSection
