I don't know this is correct, but I think it's because the driver of the
device configures different port than the actual usb device is
registered. This may be due to installation of usb device driver for
already plugged device. I think you can get around this by uninstall the
driver, then plug off the device, and then reinstall the driver.

can anyone telling me the reason why the message

is being displayed while the system boots into gnu/linux

my usb therefore is not working

im using knoppix 3.3 with rhombus optical mouse

in  gentoo  the usb mouse works fine (the usb mouse is /dev/input/mice)
