Well the project you need to do doesnt ahve anything to do with thin clients.
The thing you need to do it to cluster them together. Well in case of systems
of different configuration its again touger because you need to configure it
independantly. Well first of all you will need to understand the working of
cluster and also things that will enable you to work in that. You will need to
recompile the linux kernel to make it support clustering ie open mosix. Well
also sites like openmosix.org will help you. Its not as simple as connecting
together some systems and working it just like that. Also jsut by saying the
old systems I dotn know the condition of the systems. Well if they are in so
much miserable state better take a couple of the ebst availiable systems. Well
