I had a conexant chipset winmodem(sm 56)-the driver
of which is not there in linux.the driver cd of the
modem provides a linux driver(.src&.rpm,but it not of
sm56,winmodem HOWTO tells sometimes it may work!).I am
presently using Fedora core 1,the driver didnt work !.
i tried linuxant.com ,their trial version driver with
reduced throughput also didnt work,it was asking for
the location of some source header files(which i
couldnt figure out
so as a defeated warrior i sold my modem for 100,
Now i want to know about a modem that works fine in
linux(I will be using the Red Hat line of os)
crieteria is cost! i want it at very low cost. i
prefer a controller less one that is well supported in
linux.any store in cochin to buy one
