i have been collecting info relating to DRI(direct rendering interface) in linux the problem is since i have only hands on experiance in a limited no of h/w i dont know wheter DRI is the only means of 3D h/w acceleration in linux the docu of many chipsets say that they have full h/w accel. but the dri.so file is found for only a few do clarify this oterwise report the particular chipset and the support for direct rendering(command is glxinfo)of your chipset. anoop
