hellllllllllo evry1 Thank u..Mr Bijoy and Mr Rajesh. Ys , i think i would make my doubt clearer. I want to b able to store images of diff distros onto a single CD. So tht i can install them all from one plce. Supoose i have images - say- linux1 , linux2 , Dos , win98 etc. Suppose they fit into a single CD. Now i want to install grub/lilo int2 the CD ..so as to choose which of the distros to install.
So the grub shld display: 1.linux1 2.linux2 3.dos 4.win98 so if i choose linux1 - tht shld start the installtion of linux1..thts as if the linux1 cd was insertd.. and if i choose dos..it shld boot dos...etc. Can this b done within a CD. Hope my doubt is clear. The distros lie on the CD itself and not on the harddisk.. How do I modify /etc/fstab to point to the entries on the CD itslf..is thr anyway.... This comes very useful if we hav dvd writers...say i cld store diff knoppix 's on a single dvd and choose which to boot...or i cld store installations cd images of diff distros on a single DVD..and choose wish to install etc. HOPE u got the picture.. CD's and Floppy's have first sector of first cylinder so they can be made bootable but they don't have the provisions for making partition table so MBR. So Mr. Linuxen ([EMAIL PROTECTED]), it's nice to see you've done to mirror the boot image, but what about the real problem?
