Hi Mr. Anand,
I guess you have eepro1000 nic from which you get the following kernel message:
__alloc_pages: 3-order allocation failed (gfp=0x20/0)
The function in the file
/usr/src/linux-2.4.26/kernel/i386/arch/net/e1000/e1000_main.c
e1000_change_mtu:
if(old_mtu != adapter->rx_buffer_len && netif_running(netdev)) {
e1000_down(adapter);
e1000_up(adapter);
}
e1000_up calls the function e1000_alloc_rx_buffers which calls dev_alloc_skb
inside a loop.
Check out for the correct module has been inserted for the network card e1000
using the command insmod e1000
If still the problem exist enable the network card option inbuilt in your
kernel for permenant by recompiling the kernel.
This should solve your problem.
Regards
Rahul

Hi,
Someone sent this at work -
The changes suggested here
http://www.hackaday.com/entry/1234000803024910/
speeds up page loading in firefox, specially if you are on a broadband
connection.
Regards.
