Try removing the dir /home/$USER/.gaim
#rm -R /home/$USER/.gaim
Then start the Gaim again. Might work..

Ymessenger for Linux does not support Chat rooms..
Well I guess it does not in any other than OS other
than M$. My room mate who uses a iMAC also doesnot
have that feature..
