Did u check your RAM?

I think once I saw this 
[drm:i830_wait_ring] *ERROR* lockup
messages when I had a faulty RAM.

Try running memtest86+ (as a boot image, and not from shell)

Maybe the RAM has bad areas and when kernel access those areas (as an AGP
framebuffer or something) things start to lock up

Not sure though..
