The point I wanted to highlight is that each of these distros has its own tried
and tested "defaults".

The (l)users would have to try each distro to finalize on their favourite ones.

Some people can't handle "too much power".  They want everything to be as lame
and simple as it can be.

But each car has its own version of the keyhole (the size, the shape, the
length  of the key, etc.)

Maybe Linux shares something with Emacs.  Emacs aficinados (I for one) say that
Emacs is Everything one wants it to be.
