Hi all,

I would like to correct the question asked by Mahesh as following...

Will Free softwares replace proprietary softwares in schools of Kerala ?

I am sure that it will happen very soon. India is a developing country and
our Kerala too. Our major problem is we don't have enough fund to invest for
the education (IT). So how can we afford the price of proprietary softwares?
So we have to go for an alternative which gives us freedom to run, freedom
to modify, freedom to study and freedom to distribute. Our government has
decided to use free softwares in government offices and schools and they
included it in their IT policy (
http://www.kerala.gov.in/annualprofile/it.htm) . To achieve this government
has to avoid or modify the subjects that teach proprietary softwares.
