We are always confronted with questions from the new users regarding incompatible hardware. The Agenda will discuss points to answer many of these questions, especially the aspect of selecting the best hardware for the GNU/ Linux OS. We will also list out a few action items to cooperate with the Hardware Vendors in promoting Free Software and helping new users. Technical Presentation : " Multimedia on GNU/Linux " by Sreenadh Contrary to popular belief GNU/ Linux is a powerful multimedia OS. GNU/Linux has a wide variety of powerful applications for multimedia related activities ranging from versatile audio/video players to editing and mixing applications. The recent release of the Peach Open Movie "Big Buck Bunny", entirely made using Free and Open Source Software has proved this fact. The presentation will throw some light on the multimedia capabilities of GNU/Linux focusing on the following points : - Advantages of multimedia on GNU/ Linux - Tweaking GNU/ Linux for the best multimedia experience - Basic multimedia playback - Command line utilities and GUI Applications ( Audio and Video Players ) - Sound Recording - Sound Editing and Mixing - Creating Scores We will have our usual Q&A Session after the Technical Presentation.
