Hi Jos, You need to get a dedicated IP from your ISP first, if you want to host your domain and/or mail server on your GNU system.
Once you have dedicated IP, you need to register your domain joscollins.com and point it in DNS to your dedicated IP. Then install and configure any of the available free mail servers such as sendmail, exim, postfix, qmail etc. to receive and deliver the mails addressed to [email protected] to your inbox. You may also configure IMAP/POP (eg: cyrus) or webmail (eg: squirrelmail, horde) on that system and use it to access mail on your host system from other systems in your local LAN.
