Hi Saxan 
There is no harm in going for 9.04 . It is a stable version 
Your Ram and hard disk space is comfortable for ur corporate web server

For partitions normally what I follow is that , I keep a separate partitions 
for /var and /home which takes most of my harddisk space . This is for me to do 
backup and admin . If you are not comfortable with manual partitions choose the 
default installation 
 
Also checking on Howtoforge site will be good
