Hi Shihab Are you using wired or wireless connection?
If it is a wired connection, check whether your lan card has been detected by using "lspci" without quotes in a terminal. If yes then just connect your cable from the modem to the lan card port. If wireless, check whether the correct drivers are installed for your wireless card and it sould detect the connection automatically.
