Linux is Free Software, but it is only one of the many Free Software, hence Libre. Not like you say (linux might go soon) And obviously it is to stress on the importance of Freedom. Linux, the kernel, is a very important Free Software and we recognize its importance when we call it GNU/Linux. Also we recognise Freedom is more important than FSF name, otherwise we would have continued to push for Hurd. Development of hurd slowed down because we already had a Free Operating system in GNU/Linux, and now most of interest in Hurd comes from its technical design, it is a micro kernel based design as opposed to Linux, BSDs or other traditional Unixes. > > Then this forum is more about Software Advocacy , Licensing talks and some > examples of how superior Free software is over the proprietory software.
