I posted a link on what BSDL people think about it.
Does my personal opinion matter if the authors are ok with it and if
it is not illegal?

The fact that linux guys stopped what they started proves what they
were porpagating about BSDL was wrong. And that is all i wanted to
stay

:-)

Well I 've been in this list for quite some time and carefully avoided
any talk on licences and freedom etc. or disputes and concentrated on
helping people with the little I know. You can make that out from the
archives.

What really got on my nerves was

http://mail.ilug-cochin.org/pipermail/mailinglist_ilug-cochin.org/2010-September/005159.html

not the mail itself but the distros link in that mail!

I came to this group but did not expect such radicalism. I am glad
that you chose to disagree :-) I respect you for that. But whenever
things got institutionalized a few radicals came and took over and
started killing the spirit with the letter ( that is waht the gnu
distros page is all about ). And then it progressed to redefining the
letter to suit their own needs as v2 v3 etc.

Glad that some of my mails did help you thin in a differrent angle.
But the main intention was to show how nasty things can get if we
start throwing mud at each other in the name of GPL, BSD etc.

And let me tell you one thing. Of all the enthusiasm there was here in
people to talk about freedom I wnder why no one commented anything on

http://mail.ilug-cochin.org/pipermail/mailinglist_ilug-cochin.org/2010-September/005256.html

I guess either not many people saw that mail or they were more
interested in talk about freedom than action?

Well as for me I am not here to convince anybody that he should use
GPL or BSD or anything like that. Because I son't define freedom the
radical FSF way. As for my story in using Free Software it is
partially written here those interested may read it.

and you will know I am not a GPL basher either!

cheers
