I hope everyone likes to hear stories. Let me tell a story.

Nearly 2 years ago someone decides that he wants a shiny device as he
goes for events where the "AXE" effect is important and that depends
on the life of few people around him. He looked around and found a
aluminum colored device and got it after paying a hefty amount
compared other non-aluminum ones. He also had a choice between a white
one but the aluminum one was having 2 USBs and as he travels a lot and
thus uses a CDMA USB wireless device as he takes photos uses multiple
harddisks with for storage etc. Was instantly impressed by the paper
box in which the aluminum device came. He had to use a search engine
to find out how to pull out the power plug from the aluminum device.
That really killed all ego he had, such a shocker it was ! He still
knew few basic equations of electricity and all those but he was
humbled. This particular guy was pretty old school and needed a mouse.
So he tried to plug in the mouse into the second USB slot for which he
paid around 20K INR more. Alas, its not going in. He was bit surprised
and but then, there could be a trick to it he thought. Tried few
things, no he is not able to plugin the USB mouse. He flipped over the
aluminum device and realized that this time there is no need to search
but the common sense of a 5 year old will tell him what the problem
is. There is not enough space between the USB devices to allow most of
the USB devices to be plugged in. He is still in the shock and nothing
is going to help him to get rid of it for the rest of the life. 20K
rupees is gone and he still around with the shock. After a while he
found about something called a USB hub & got one spending INR 600.
This is it he thought. He managed to plugin that to a USB lot and alas
he can connect upto 4 devices of any size. He plugged in a mouse, the
USB internet connection everything is good. The first few hours have
passed and he was just about to forget about the new device called the
hub then the mouse stopped working and internet got disconnected. Oh,
both the devices are disconnected. He might have done something which
made the devices disconnect and he plugged the 'hub' back, waited for
a while and everything is working again. Life goes and he keeps doing
this every 4 hours or so for last 2 years. Now he finds it a good
distraction from continuos sitting and working for too much time and
it even acts as measure against downloading large files over the
wireless connection - it never allows it and he is saving lot of money
over bandwidth. After a while a friend wanted to write a book and
wanted to use some 50 of his photos. He was quite excited and decided
to sort around 400 GB photos and select some 200 of them for the final
selection. He grabbed his harddisk, connected it to the USB hub and
yes, the disks appeared on the desktop. Wow ! He soon ran out of space
and bought a new harddisk to copy images. Plugged in the new harddisk
started taking backups and every-now and then the disk got
disconnected. Finally after nearly 6 months, he has some 250 GB on new
disk, 120 GB on the aluminum device and 400 GB on another harddisk. He
is quite confused about which is the master copy, or all the images
are synced or what exactly to do now. He has some health issues and
stuff and can't keep working on the copying business for ever and
after trying few things like getting a new hub etc he has dropped it.
His friend never wrote the book. Soon he wanted to get a monitor
mostly because of health issues and wanted to sit in an ergonomic
position. All is well. He has one monitor at work and another at home
and tried to connect he monitor to the aluminium thingie. Damn, again
there is no hole !!! (no, no double meaning intended here!) There is
nothing that looks like a DVI or VGI. The R&D started and he soon
figured out there is some sort of connector which will do the magic of
connecting a monitor to the aluminum box. He bought this small
connector for 1600 INR after some bargaining accomplished the great
task of connecting the monitor to the aluminum box. He carried this
magical object with him so that he can keep doing the magic in
different locations. Often he forgets the magical wand but he is used
to it now. He once tweeted saying that buying the aluminum box is the
last compromise he did in his life still lives pretty happily.

Everything in life is about choices and all that matters is what we
choose & freedom enables one to choose.
