Leave people alone for a moment, do _you_ think he supporting BSD license for vorbis is hypocrisy? > He does things according to his whims and fancy. Lets talk about this specific example rather than throwing mud against the wall and hope something will stick there. How do you respond to this particular case? > His hypocrisy is called strategy by one eyed members of his mob. I don't blindly follow Stallman or agree with him on everything, but what is wrong in this case wanting to see vorbis used everywhere since mp3 is already popular. It is not hypocrisy he was always consistent in this strategy, it was exactly the same logic he gave to support LGPL for GNU C library, because proprietary C libraries are already popular. It is pretty simple, copyleft gives Free Software community a unique advantage, but if something proprietary is already popular widely, using copyleft won't give any advantage to the community. Do you see any problem with this logic other than it is first proposed by Stallman? Lets discuss why you think this is a problem than blaming Stallman for it.
