I don't think it should be a problem to add it as a contrib to mailman - I have also
written such a script and think it would be most useful if something was included.
There is a better way of doing it though. Rather just drop a dedicated script in the
/etc/logrotate.d directory called mailman. These scripts are automagically executed
when it is time to do logrotation. No need to modify the main logrotate.conf file.
