Folks,
The power problem has been resolved. It turns out that the machine itself was not down, but the switch it was connected to was. So, as far as it was concerned, it was the rest of the world that went away. ;)
Anyway, www.python.org now points back to the original server, and everything should be as it was.
Sorry for any confusion that may have been caused.
