I'm Lavanya, a CSE (AI/ML) student from India passionate about exploring new technologies and contributing to open source. I came across GNU Mailman while exploring GSoC 2026 organizations and found the project meaningful — contributing to email infrastructure that real communities depend on. I also want to be part of.
I've set up the local development environment with Mailman Core and Postorius running, explored the codebase, and am currently looking for a beginner-friendly issue to work on as my first contribution. I'm particularly interested in proposing for these two projects: - Improved UI for Subscription Management - User Profile Tool Both projects are in Postorius, which aligns well with my Django and Python background. I'm in the process of understanding the existing views, templates, and how mailmanclient bridges Postorius to the Core REST API. I'd love to stay in touch with the community, get any guidance and eventually get feedback on my proposals.
