Well! I don't know exactly what happened, but it looks like something was funky within qmail-inject. (Like, corrupted. All I can figure is that the power outage that destroyed tux's keyboard and a few other files, somehow managed to affect this one enough that some mail will go through it and other mail barfs. I don't pretend to understand. I told my boss we needed another UPS... but do I get one? noooo...) Anyway, solve one problem, find another. I can *post* to the list from any address inside our network (either on auntminnie.com or on tux's domain). The posts show up on the admin interface and the admin (now amanda@tux) receives notification "immediately" in email. (This was not working before, either when the admin was [EMAIL PROTECTED] or when it was amanda@tux.) I go into the admin interface and approve the posts. The posts arrive at all local addresses (@tux.[foo.bar]) - which is a tremendous improvement! And there was rejoicing in the streets. Or at least the aisles of the cubicle farm. But mail to the remote addresses (@auntminnie.com) is bouncing -- and there's no dang error message that I can find. The mailserver that handles AM mail will accept mail from tux.[foo.bar] - I just checked, to assure my sanity - the only things that are bouncing are the messages that go through Mailman. What the heck?? I also looked at the mail/error logs on AM's mail server, and I can find no indication that mail is actually being rejected or returned ... I admit that I do not understand what is going on. The bounce notice is as follows... any suggestions are greatly welcomed, as time is running short. =) Amanda ======================= >From testlist-admin@tux.[foo.bar] Fri Jul 13 00:45:08 2001 Delivered-To: amanda@tux.[foo.bar] Delivered-To: testlist-admin@tux.[foo.bar] Subject: Testlist member [EMAIL PROTECTED] bouncing - disabled From: mailman-owner@tux.[foo.bar] To: testlist-admin@tux.[foo.bar] MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="204.153.44.33.514.4014.994985043.658.28 315" X-Ack: no X-BeenThere: testlist@tux.[foo.bar] X-Mailman-Version: 2.0.5 Precedence: bulk Sender: testlist-owner@tux.[foo.bar] Errors-To: testlist-owner@tux.[foo.bar] X-BeenThere: testlist@tux.[foo.bar] List-Help: <mailto:testlist-request@tux.[foo.bar]?subject=help> List-Post: <mailto:testlist@tux.[foo.bar]> List-Subscribe: <http://tux.[foo.bar]/mailman/listinfo/testlist>, <mailto:testlist-request@tux.[foo.bar]?subject=subscribe> List-Id: Tux's test list <testlist.tux.[foo.bar]> List-Unsubscribe: <http://tux.[foo.bar]/mailman/listinfo/testlist>, <mailto:testlist-request@tux.[foo.bar]?subject=unsubscribe> List-Archive: <http://tux.[foo.bar]/mailman/private/testlist/> This MIME message should be readable as plain text. --204.153.44.33.514.4014.994985043.658.28315 Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii This is a Mailman mailing list bounce action notice: List: Testlist Member: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Action: Subscription disabled.
