A follow-up to my earlier problem. My mail was not going through and I was getting lot's of the following excerpt in my /home/mailman/logs/error file:

I added a symbolic link to to re.py in /usr/lib/python2.1 (thanks to whoever suggested this): cd /usr/lib/python2.1 ln -s re.py regex.py ...and suddenly backlogged mail came gushing out! (Including sundry test messages -- be warned!) As I understand it, re.py has some syntax differences from regex.py, so I'm not sure yet if this is a viable fix.
