I did a mod in my mailman to handle this problem. Instead of simply placing text between <pre> and </pre> (I think that's the tag that's used), I converted the text simply to HTML by translating /n to <br>, " " to " ", and the < and > characters. Now my archives wrap according to the browser - just like the email should wrap to the user's window. If I get some time, I'll try to post the mod.
