I was incorrect in my earlier statement. On my RedHat 7.3 box with Postfix 1.7 installed via RPM is running as postfix.

Any and all reported issues should be reported to bugzilla.redhat.com. If uses sendmail as the MTA by default, but it's pretty easy to edit the post-install scripts to use postfix files instead of sendmail. If you get the source RPM, you can set the mailgroup and mailgid variables in the spec file to be whatever you want. By default it's a group of groups/gids: mail; nobody; mailman. The comment says postfix is run as nobody, but my 1.7 RPM Postfix RPM from RedHat 7.3 runs as postfix. Not sure if they maybe changed they in 8.0 or somewhere in Rawhide.
