How does mailman tie in with my current mail server? How does my mail

Usually the mail alias definitions output by the list creation process do the job. You must have an MTA such as Sendmail or Postfix running on your Mailman server. The mail alias definitions refer to a Mailman delivery script to be run by the MTA on your Mailman server when it has incoming email for one of a list's aliases.

And, I can't create new lists from the web interface. Never accepts my
password.

Assuming you are running MM 2.1.x

Are you using the MM site password or did you define a list creation password by $prefix/bin/mmsitepass with the -c option and use that?
