I am using exim4 as the MTA, I have not made any configuration changes with procmail for mailman.
The process that is runnning out of control is the following:

Sounds like you are using a default install of Procmail as the MTA (you didn't include that information in your mail).
Check the procmail main configuration file and see how it treats local undefined users...
