Hello guys,

I've looked at mailman several times over the past three years -- but always decided against it simply because I have limited computer expertise and usually need the help of a support desk. However, after pricing some of the bloated programs on the market like Web Crossing -- and after the recent decision by the Yohooligians at Yahoogroups to drop images from the archives -- I'm ready to give Mailman a try.

I have several groups and I need to start a new one now for motorcycle builders. Rather than using yahoo -- I would like to start this group off using Mailman -- but I don't have a clue where to begin and I'm up against a deadline for a project -- so I just don't have the time to educate myself right now. We are on a Linux server.

Our web sites and discussion groups are aimed at shops, such as metal working shops, race car shops, blacksmith shops etc. All the lists use a lot of graphics -- and the archives and the photos are the backbone of each group. Yahoo has ruined that and I need to do something quickly. There are lots of web based forums available but my groups want e-mail lists.

Is there anyone on this list who could give me some help getting the first list set up?

Thanks,

Terry Cowan
