We need to append a forced footer message (with unsubscribe info) to all of the Mailman lists that we host. This needs to be done in a way that prevents any list admins from changing or removing the message. We thought that we could do this using Decorate.py, but can't seem to figure it out.
It's easy enough to change the templates, but if any of your mailing list owners have shell access to the server, they might be able to change them back.
The issue of changing templates is addressed in FAQ 3.11, at <http://www.python.org/cgi-bin/faqw-mm.py?req=show&file=faq03.011.htp>, although this is not the primary purpose of this entry.
Ideally, we would want this footer to be appended in addition to the custom list footer.
That would be a bit more difficult. That would require source code changes.
