Will be easier or more difficult to configure MM and htDig on the Mac than RH. I run only a handful of lists that have 50 to 500 users.
I can't speak to RH, but I found Mailman and htDig to be fairly easy to install from source and configure under OS X Server. I haven't used Apple's default install of MM 2.1.2 since I'm still using 10.2.
