It depends on how your MTA provides that information to the Local Delivery Agent. That information may or may not be made available in a header that is created by the local MTA, in which case Mailman could look at that. But without support from your local MTA, there is no other way that Mailman could know that information.
Are we really talking about the 'sender' mail header?
Some MTAs may encode that information in the "Sender:" header, yes.
