You could have told Exim to do that (Exim 2 or 3 or 4...I don't remember Exim 1 well enough to say...we didn't use it long). I don't think it can limit the number of things injected via command line calls to "sendmail"...but that wasn't the problem (Mailman can make it the problem). Thank you very much for jumping in.
