The problem is that the message never sends from mailman. Any help in troubleshooting would be great.
I've had the same problem twice in the past month with Mailman 2.1.5. The qrunner was wedged, and a restart freed up the logjam.
I haven't seen anyone claim to know what might be going on yet. Let me know if the same thing works for you.
