If by "the site" you mean
http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/mailman-users, it is the
"Unsubscribe or edit options" button and then the "Unsubscribe" button
on the resultant page. You do need to provide your e-mail address on
one of the two pages, but the password is not required as the
unsubscribe is confirmed by e-mail.

Also, every post you receive from the list contains the following
rfc2369 header:

>List-Unsubscribe: <http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/mailman-users>,
> <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

If you subscribe in "message" mode, every post you receive contains
footers including a line which says something like

>Unsubscribe: http://mail.python.org/mailman/options/mailman-users/[EMAIL
>PROTECTED]

Which will take you directly to the page with the "Unsubscribe" button.

If you subscribe in "digest" mode, every digest you receive from the
list has unsubscribe instructions at the beginning

Finally, your monthly password reminder also contains a link to the
page with the "Unsubscribe" button.

Perhaps you have an idea as to how we can make it more obvious without
being downright annoying.
