Hello David, I had a similar problem when I migrated Mailman from one server to another. As you described everything works except archiving. On my system running 'bin/check_perms -f' didn't help. The permissions or ownership were different on the new installation so Mailman couldn't write to the archive directory. I haven't fixed the problem due to lack of time and the folks that I am running the lists for said they can live without archives.
