The light finally dawns :-) You upgraded from 2.0.x and you didn't change your Mailman aliases for Sendmail. See item 2 in <http://www.python.org/cgi-bin/faqw-mm.py?req=show&file=faq03.014.htp> for an example of what the aliases should look like.
